Abstract
This use case separates backup completion from recovery assurance. KRYOS-XS evaluates whether the organization possesses evidence that critical information can be restored within the required conditions.
Decision problem
Organizations frequently equate a successful scheduled job with recoverability. That conclusion may ignore corruption, missing data, compromised credentials, inaccessible encryption keys or untested procedures. The decision is whether the evidence supports a defensible recovery claim.
Evidence and Hypercube reasoning
Console retrieves approved backup status, retention, access-control, separation and restore-test evidence. Hypercube evaluates coverage, freshness, integrity and operational dependency. Missing tests or unclear recovery ownership become explicit gaps rather than hidden assumptions.
Governed workflow
KRYOS forms an assurance decision for each critical recovery set. If the evidence is incomplete, Console recommends a controlled restore test and names the accountable reviewer. Test results, exceptions and remediation are preserved in the ledger.
Evaluation design
Measures should include successful restore tests, recovery-time accuracy, missing datasets found, compromised administrative paths corrected, unresolved evidence gaps and the rate at which declared recovery capability matched actual testing.
Boundary condition
The service depends on access to suitable backup-system evidence. Job completion alone should never be presented as proof of successful restoration.
